Safety Information
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing our winch crank, designed for water sports applications. Compliance with the following safety rules will ensure long-term and safe use of the product.
WARNING: The winch crank MUST NOT be used for safety purposes such as belaying people or rescue situations. It is intended only for the operation of equipment in accordance with its intended purpose (e.g. operation of sails, moorings and other water sports elements).
2. Precautions before use
Read the product sheet: Detailed parameters such as maximum load, material and capstan compatibility can be found on the product sheet and must be observed.
Visual inspection: Before each use, inspect the crank for mechanical damage such as cracks, deformation, or looseness in the handle.
Intended use: Only use the crank for winches that comply with its technical specifications and in water sports conditions.
Personal protection: Use appropriate nautical gloves to prevent chafing and increase control of the tool.
3. Safe Use Policy
Mounting:
Make sure the crank is properly installed in the winch seat. Check stability after insertion – the crank should not loosen or fall out during use.
During operation:
Keep both hands on the crank or handle for stability and precision. Always turn the crank smoothly, avoiding sudden movements. Do not overload the device – observe the maximum load values given in the product card.
Surroundings:
Allow enough space around the winch to avoid accidentally hitting others with the crank. Use extreme caution on slippery deck surfaces.
Storage:
After use, detach the crank from the winch and store it in a dry place, away from sea salt and moisture, to prevent corrosion.
4. Restrictions on Use
Do not use the crank for safety purposes: The product is not intended for the rescue or belaying of people. Any attempt to use it in these situations could lead to serious injury or damage to the product.
Do not use in conditions exceeding the technical specifications: Exceeding the maximum load, too much force, or inadequate winch configuration can result in failure.
5. Maintenance and servicing Rinse the crank with clean water after each use to remove salt and debris. Regularly lubricate the moving parts of the handle (if applicable) according to the instructions in the product sheet. Store the crank in a protective case to avoid damage during transport or storage. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, discontinue use immediately and contact an authorized service center.
6. Additional Information Any questions regarding the use, maintenance, or warranty of the product should be directed to the manufacturer or authorized distributor. For complete information on the GPSR standard and the product compatibility requirements, please refer to the accompanying technical documentation.
Safe and proper use of a winch crank is crucial for its durability and comfort of use. Remember to follow the rules described in this manual.
