The Rooster Teflon-coated Icke set is an essential tool for sailors looking to precisely monitor the position of their sails. This set includes three green and three red self-adhesive wool indicators, finished with a TEFLON® coating for enhanced durability in challenging weather conditions. The Teflon coating makes the icke easier to apply to the sail surface and helps them maintain their effectiveness for longer periods, even during rough sailing conditions.
Best Locations to Place the Icke:
- Jib near the forward leech (20-50 cm from the front leech, 100-200 cm from the lower leech)
- Mainsail near the forward leech, if there is no jib (20-50 cm from the front leech, 100-200 cm from the lower leech)
- Rear leech, especially on the topmost battens
- Shrouds, to help determine the apparent wind direction
Thanks to the Teflon coating, these Icke are less likely to stick to the sail in wet or choppy conditions. To further reduce this, it is recommended to use the SAILKOTE SPRAY from McLube.
Features:
- Self-adhesive wool indicators
- Teflon® coating for dirt and moisture resistance
- Set includes three green and three red Icke
- Perfect for sail trim adjustments
- Ideal for sailing in challenging weather conditions
If you want precise sail adjustments and long-lasting indicators, the Rooster Teflon-coated Icke set is an essential addition to your sailing gear. Invest in reliability and performance on the water with Rooster Icke!

Safety Instructions for Sail Wind Indicators
Rules for Safe Use
Purpose
Wind indicators are designed to monitor airflow around the sail to enhance its efficiency. Use them solely for this purpose.
Install wind indicators in the appropriate locations on the sail as recommended by the manufacturer to ensure proper operation.
Safe Handling and Installation
When mounting on the sail, use the provided tools or recommended mounting accessories, such as adhesive or specialized fasteners.
Ensure the wind indicators are securely attached to avoid detachment during sailing.
Do not install wind indicators in areas where they may obstruct visibility or interfere with sail handling.
Regular Inspection and Maintenance
Inspection of Technical Condition
Before each sailing session, check that the wind indicators are in good condition and securely attached to the sail.
Ensure they are not damaged or worn out, as this could affect their functionality.
Maintenance
After sailing, rinse the wind indicators with fresh water to remove salt and other debris.
Store sails with attached wind indicators in a dry place to prevent damage from moisture or mold.
Emergency Situations
Loss or Damage of a Wind Indicator
If a wind indicator falls off or is damaged during sailing, continue the voyage while visually monitoring the sail’s trim. Replace the damaged wind indicator at the earliest opportunity.
Avoid touching a damaged wind indicator during sailing to prevent further sail damage.
Installation Issues
If you encounter difficulties during installation, consult the manufacturer or a sailing manual for appropriate guidance.
Contact in Case of Problems
If you experience issues with installation or defective wind indicators, contact the manufacturer or the point of sale.
Do not attempt to modify their design, as this could affect their performance and durability.
