Safety Instructions for the Wind Indicator Safe Use Guidelines Installation of the Wind Indicator
Install the wind indicator according to the manufacturer’s instructions, selecting the proper location on the mast (either on the top or at the front). Incorrect installation may affect measurement accuracy and device stability.
Ensure that all mounting components are properly tightened and secured to prevent accidental detachment during sailing.
Using the Wind Indicator
The wind indicator is a precision wind-measuring device operating within a range of 0.8 to 40 knots. Avoid exposing it to conditions beyond its specifications, as this may result in damage.
During use, make sure the indicator is clean and free from obstructions that could interfere with its movement (e.g., dirt on the surface or friction in the moving parts).
Regular Inspection Before Use Checking the Condition of the Indicator
Before each use, verify that the wind indicator is free from damage. Pay particular attention to:
Damage to materials (carbon or epoxy),
Damage to mounting brackets or fixation components,
Cleanliness and absence of contaminants that could affect performance.
Calibration
Although the indicator is factory-calibrated, periodically check its accuracy, especially after long-term use or exposure to extreme conditions. If you have any doubts about measurement precision, contact the manufacturer.
Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning the Indicator
Clean the wind indicator regularly to remove salt, sand, or dust that may impede its operation. Use a soft cloth and mild cleaning agents to avoid damaging the surface.
Avoid strong detergents or aggressive chemicals that may degrade the material.
Storage
Store the wind indicator in a dry, cool place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
Avoid exposing it to high temperatures during storage, as this may affect the durability of its components.
Emergency Situations Indicator Damage
If you notice any signs of damage—such as cracks, loose mounting parts, or contamination affecting performance—stop using the wind indicator immediately.
Do not use a damaged device, as inaccurate wind readings may compromise sailing safety.
In the event of severe damage, contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.
Contact in Case of Issues
If you detect any manufacturing defect or damage, contact the manufacturer or place of purchase. Do not modify the wind indicator yourself, as improper alterations may affect its functionality and safety.
