Zhik Microfleece Hiker Ballast Suit for Women
Product Description:
The Zhik Microfleece Hiker Suit is a redefinition of comfort and performance for women who sail in demanding conditions and require gear specifically designed for active ballast handling. Drawing on Zhik's expertise in competitive sailing, this suit is crafted to balance comfort, flexibility, and support. Optimized for milder thermal conditions, it combines innovative technologies with functional design, ensuring performance and comfort even during prolonged use.
Product Features:
-
Microfleece™ 2/1 mm Neoprene Insulation:
The suit is made from Microfleece™ neoprene, offering thermal insulation and flexibility. The 2/1 mm thickness provides an excellent balance between cold protection and freedom of movement in various sailing conditions. -
High Four-Way Stretch Fabric:
With four-way stretch, the suit provides full range of motion and comfort without limiting activity on deck, no matter the intensity of the ballast work. -
Flatlock Seams with Reinforcing Tape:
Equipped with flatlock seams, this suit minimizes the risk of skin irritation. Additional tape at stress points enhances durability and strength of the construction. -
Reinforced Panels on Buttocks and Legs:
Reinforced ZhikTex™ II panels on the buttocks and legs provide extra protection against abrasion, increasing durability and wear resistance. -
Adjustable Velcro® Shoulder Straps:
The Velcro® shoulder straps allow for a perfect fit, ensuring comfort and stability during intense ballast handling. -
Integrated and Removable Ballast Pads:
The suit features removable fiberglass ballast pads, offering better stability and comfort during extended ballast sessions. -
Silicone Inner Cuffs:
The silicone cuffs on the legs prevent the suit from shifting, minimizing the risk of it moving during activity and providing stability during movement. -
Water Drainage Openings:
Drainage holes at the ankles effectively remove excess water, keeping the suit dry and preventing it from becoming too heavy, ensuring comfort over long periods. -
Adjustable Leg Length:
Adjustable leg length allows for easy customization of the suit to the wearer’s needs, with reinforced stitching to ensure durability without risk of fabric tearing. -
3D Fit:
The suit features a 3D fit, ensuring maximum comfort and ergonomics. It molds to the body, reducing the risk of chafing and providing full freedom of movement.
Summary:
The Zhik Microfleece Hiker Suit is an innovative solution designed specifically for women who actively sail and require a high-performance, comfortable ballast suit. The use of Microfleece™ neoprene, high flexibility, and reinforced panels ensures long-lasting durability and comfort even in the harshest conditions. With integrated ballast pads, silicone cuffs, and reinforced seams, the suit combines functionality, high wear resistance, and an excellent fit. This suit prioritizes comfort, performance, and durability, supporting sailors at every stage of the race.
Safety Information
1. Usage
1.1. The sailing wetsuit should be used as intended, specifically during water activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, or paddleboarding.
1.2. The wetsuit must fit the user properly. Improper fit may restrict movement, reduce thermal protection, or cause discomfort.
1.3. Before putting on the wetsuit, ensure it is in good technical condition (no tears, abrasions, damaged zippers, or seals).
2. Maintenance and Cleaning
2.1. After each use, rinse the wetsuit with clean water to remove salt, sand, and debris.
2.2. Do not use detergents, bleach, or harsh chemicals that may damage the material.
2.3. Dry the wetsuit in a well-ventilated, shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators.
2.4. Store the wetsuit in a dry place, either hanging or folded in a way that prevents permanent creases.
3. Safe Use
3.1. The wetsuit is not a safety device and does not provide buoyancy. Always use an approved life jacket or buoyancy aid when wearing a sailing wetsuit.
3.2. If the material is damaged in a way that reduces its insulating properties, repair it immediately (e.g., using specialized neoprene glue) or replace it with a new one.
3.3. Avoid exposing the wetsuit to sharp objects that may puncture or tear it.
3.4. Do not use the wetsuit in situations where there is a risk of exposure to fire, high temperatures, or chemicals.
4. Storage Conditions
4.1. Store the wetsuit at room temperature (10–25°C), away from UV light and moisture.
4.2. Avoid contact with oils, solvents, and other chemicals that may weaken the material's structure.
4.3. Regularly inspect the wetsuit for wear and tear, paying special attention to seams, zippers, and the material's elasticity.
5. Health and Safety Recommendations
5.1. The wetsuit should be worn on clean skin or over a thin layer of thermal clothing to prevent irritation.
5.2. If an allergic reaction to neoprene or Julex occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor.
5.3. Avoid overheating – in warmer conditions, remove the wetsuit to prevent dehydration and heat stroke.
6. Compliance with GPSR Regulations
The sailing wetsuit complies with the safety requirements outlined in GPSR, provided it is used in accordance with the above guidelines. Both the manufacturer and the user are responsible for maintaining the wetsuit in good technical condition and using it as intended.
7. Contact in Case of Problems
If a manufacturing defect or damage is detected, contact the manufacturer or point of sale. Do not modify the wetsuit in a way that could affect its protective properties.
