Safe Use Guidelines

Proper Fit and Attachment

Ensure that the cover fits correctly to the component it is designed to protect (e.g., mast, boom, foils, hull). Incorrect fitting may cause damage to the protected equipment or to the cover itself.

Before transport or storage, securely fasten all closures (e.g., zippers, straps, hook-and-loop fasteners) to ensure the cover remains stable on the component.

Use as Intended

Use the cover exclusively for protecting the appropriate sailboat parts. Do not use it as protection for sharp or heavy objects that may damage the material.

During transport, make sure that the cover does not rub against sharp edges, which may cause tears or abrasion.

Regular Inspection Before Use

Before each use, inspect the cover for:

Material condition: Look for wear, holes, tears, or mechanical damage.

Zippers and fasteners: Ensure zippers move smoothly and straps or buckles are fully functional.

Interior: Verify that no sharp objects or debris are inside that could scratch or damage the covered component.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the Cover

After use, especially in marine conditions, rinse the cover with clean water to remove salt, sand, and other contaminants that may weaken the material.

If needed, use mild detergents. Avoid strong chemicals that may damage the fabric or protective coating.

Drying and Storage

Always dry the cover thoroughly before storage to prevent mould growth and material deterioration.

Store the cover in a dry, ventilated area, away from direct UV exposure and heat sources.

Emergency Situations

Cover Damage

If you notice damage to the material or fasteners, do not use the cover if it can no longer provide effective protection. Consider repair by a specialist or replacement.

If the cover is seriously damaged during transport or storage, check whether the protected component has also been affected.

Contact in Case of Issues

If you identify a manufacturing defect or permanent damage, contact the manufacturer or the point of sale. Do not attempt self-repair, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the cover.
