Description:
Optiparts protective strips are high-quality rubber corner protectors designed for use in the Optimist class. These strips provide excellent protection for the bow of the boat, safeguarding it against damage during transport, storage, or water maneuvers. The strips are equipped with a self-adhesive backing, making them easy to apply without the need for additional glue. They can be used only on the bow or on all four corners of the boat, offering complete protection for the boat's structure. The rubber profile of the strips is specially shaped to effectively protect the delicate edges of the boat. These are not just flat, thin pieces of rubber – they are durable and robust, ensuring long-lasting use.

Safety Information

Safety Instructions for a Bow Fender/Protector (Boat)

Safe Usage Guidelines

Purpose

The bow fender/protector is designed to protect the front part of the boat from damage caused by collisions with docks, other vessels, or obstacles on the water.
Use the bow fender only for its intended purpose. Do not use it for other purposes that could affect its effectiveness and safety.

Installation

Attaching the Fender:
Ensure that the fender is properly secured to the bow of the boat. Check that all attachment ropes are firmly fixed and the mounts are correctly installed to prevent the fender from shifting during use.

Positioning in the Correct Place:
The fender should be mounted in such a way that it provides maximum protection for the bow in case of contact with other vessels or obstacles. Ensure it does not block access to other parts of the boat, such as lines or ropes.

Regular Technical Inspection

Before Each Use:

Inspecting the Fender:
Check the fender for any mechanical damage (e.g., cracks, holes, dents). A damaged fender should be replaced before further use.

Inspecting Ropes and Mounts:
Ensure that the ropes/mounting systems of the protector are in good condition, not frayed or damaged. Check that they are securely attached and show no signs of wear. Replace the attachment ropes if necessary.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning

After each use, rinse the fender with clean water to remove sand, salt, mud, or other contaminants that may affect its durability and protective properties.
Avoid using aggressive detergents that may damage the material of the fender. Use mild cleaning agents instead.

Storage

At the end of the season, store the fender in a dry, cool, and dark place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing it in locations where it may be exposed to prolonged water or moisture.
Ensure the fender is not subjected to heavy pressure, which may deform it.

Safety During Use

Proper Location:
Install the fender in a position on the bow where it is effective but does not hinder maneuvering or access to other parts of the boat, such as lines, sails, or other accessories.

Do Not Overload the Fender:
The fender is not intended to cushion falls, and its sole purpose is to protect the bow of the boat. Use it exclusively to prevent damage caused by impacts.

Emergency Situations

Fender Damage:
If cracks, holes, or deformations are noticed on the fender, replace it immediately. A damaged fender cannot effectively protect the bow of the boat.

Broken Mounting:
If the fender’s attachment or securing ropes are damaged, replace them immediately. Improper or insecure mounting may result in the fender being lost during use.

Contact in Case of Problems

If you notice a manufacturing defect or damage, contact the manufacturer or point of sale. Do not modify the fender or its mounting in any way that could affect its functionality or safety.
