Basic equipment for an Optimist class boat includes ballast straps. The ballast straps from the renowned Polish company Ripper keep the young competitor in check, preventing them from falling overboard, as their lower surface ensures the straps hold well on the midfoot.

The strap has 3 attachment points because it is a double strap as can be seen in the pictures.

It is available in 4 colors: black, red, navy, and pink, to be chosen at will. Currently available colors can be seen on the list above. The black strap has a blue non-slip material on the underside.
