Safety Information
Safety Instructions for Lifebuoys
Safety Guidelines
Proper Use
A lifebuoy is designed to provide buoyancy and assist individuals in water. It should only be used for rescuing people in emergency situations, never for other purposes such as recreation or transport.
Ensure that the lifebuoy is always fully operational and readily accessible in locations where it may be needed, such as on boats, near swimming pools, or on ships.
Correct Use
For safety, the user should grab the lifebuoy with both hands, holding it at waist height.
Ensure the lifebuoy is clearly visible, for example, by using bright colors so it can be easily spotted by rescuers.
If the lifebuoy has a rope, always ensure it is of the appropriate length and securely attached to a stable point (e.g., to the boat).
Regular Inspection Before Use
Technical Inspection
Before each use, check whether the lifebuoy is damaged. Pay special attention to:
Cracks, holes, or dents in the material.
The condition of the securing strap (if present) and ensure it is not worn or cracked.
Check that the lifebuoy is properly inflated to ensure optimal buoyancy.
Additional Components Check
If the lifebuoy is equipped with reflective elements, ensure they are clean and visible.
Check that the rope, if attached, is in good condition, without wear, damage, or contamination.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning After Use
After using the lifebuoy in water, rinse it with clean water to remove salt, dirt, and other contaminants.
Thoroughly dry the lifebuoy before storage to prevent mold growth and corrosion on any metal parts (if present).
Storage
Store the lifebuoy in a dry, cool place, away from heat sources and UV radiation.
Avoid storing the lifebuoy in locations prone to mechanical damage, such as on sharp edges.
Emergency Situations
Use in Emergencies
If necessary, throw the lifebuoy to a person in the water to help them stay afloat.
If the person in the water is unconscious or in shock, ensure they grab the lifebuoy and secure them in the proper position to prevent drowning.
Damage to the Lifebuoy
If any damage or defects are noticed, immediately remove the lifebuoy from use and report it to a service point or request a replacement.
Avoid using a lifebuoy that does not meet technical requirements, such as proper buoyancy or visible reflective elements.
Contact in Case of Issues
If you notice any manufacturing defects or damage to the lifebuoy, contact the manufacturer or point of sale to file a claim. Do not use damaged equipment, as it may affect its effectiveness in emergency situations.
