The women’s Ola spring suit is crafted from 2mm neoprene to combine upper body warmth and protection, with freedom of movement and enhanced flexibility. Designed in collaboration with Zhik’s female athletes, the Ola spring suit is tailor made for watersports women.

A minimal seam design across the wetsuit reduces the areas of low stretch and maximises comfort. Raw edge cuffs enhance stretch, reduce irritation, and minimize bulk around the wrists and ankles for added comfort. The leg openings are finished with a neoprene rubber skin to create a seal against the skin and reduce water entering the spring suit during activities.

Seams are joined with Zhik’s new water-based glue formula and reinforced with soft and stretchy 4 needle flatlock stitching which ensures durability and high stretch on all the joints, while also sitting flat to the fabric to increase comfort and reduce pressure points.

The timeless pattern which is incorporated into the upper body panels has been created by a textile designer, Jess Zinga, from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and is inspired by wood carvings, textures and ocean waves.

What is flatlock stitching and why is it good?

Flatlock stitching creates a seam that is flat on both sides, can stretch, and adds a decorative element to the garment since both sides show the thread. It is widely used on items where the material needs to stretch and sits close to the skin and needs to minimise irritation.

Safety Information

1. Usage
1.1. The sailing wetsuit should be used as intended, specifically during water activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, or paddleboarding.
1.2. The wetsuit must fit the user properly. Improper fit may restrict movement, reduce thermal protection, or cause discomfort.
1.3. Before putting on the wetsuit, ensure it is in good technical condition (no tears, abrasions, damaged zippers, or seals).

2. Maintenance and Cleaning
2.1. After each use, rinse the wetsuit with clean water to remove salt, sand, and debris.
2.2. Do not use detergents, bleach, or harsh chemicals that may damage the material.
2.3. Dry the wetsuit in a well-ventilated, shaded area, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators.
2.4. Store the wetsuit in a dry place, either hanging or folded in a way that prevents permanent creases.

3. Safe Use
3.1. The wetsuit is not a safety device and does not provide buoyancy. Always use an approved life jacket or buoyancy aid when wearing a sailing wetsuit.
3.2. If the material is damaged in a way that reduces its insulating properties, repair it immediately (e.g., using specialized neoprene glue) or replace it with a new one.
3.3. Avoid exposing the wetsuit to sharp objects that may puncture or tear it.
3.4. Do not use the wetsuit in situations where there is a risk of exposure to fire, high temperatures, or chemicals.

4. Storage Conditions
4.1. Store the wetsuit at room temperature (10–25°C), away from UV light and moisture.
4.2. Avoid contact with oils, solvents, and other chemicals that may weaken the material's structure.
4.3. Regularly inspect the wetsuit for wear and tear, paying special attention to seams, zippers, and the material's elasticity.

5. Health and Safety Recommendations
5.1. The wetsuit should be worn on clean skin or over a thin layer of thermal clothing to prevent irritation.
5.2. If an allergic reaction to neoprene or Julex occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor.
5.3. Avoid overheating – in warmer conditions, remove the wetsuit to prevent dehydration and heat stroke.

6. Compliance with GPSR Regulations
The sailing wetsuit complies with the safety requirements outlined in GPSR, provided it is used in accordance with the above guidelines. Both the manufacturer and the user are responsible for maintaining the wetsuit in good technical condition and using it as intended.

7. Contact in Case of Problems
If a manufacturing defect or damage is detected, contact the manufacturer or point of sale. Do not modify the wetsuit in a way that could affect its protective properties.
